For 80 seniors at Pittsburg High School, their goal of earning a college degree has been made a bit easier thanks to $157,000 in scholarships awarded Sunday at the Pitzer Family Scholarship Recognition, organized each spring by the USD 250 Foundation. The event was named for George and Billie Pitzer.
