Details

These grants are available to schools, grade levels, departments, teachers, or other groups of educators within Pittsburg Community Schools, and are intended to be supplementary to the curriculum or co-curricular activities of the district.

We annually allocate approximately $20,000 to fund teacher grants.
Application opens and teachers are notified in November.
Grants may be given to schools, grade levels, departments, classrooms, or a group of USD 250 educators.
Grant requests should align with the curricular goals of the district.
Priority will be given to projects focused on structured literacy and ways to enhance standard skills to improve student scores on state assessment tests.
They must be submitted by the deadline in December.
They may be submitted for any amount up to $1,500.
Each elementary school will be automatically granted $500 for field trips; there is no need to apply for them.
Grants will not be awarded for large technology projects; those are funded through the district.
Grant proposals must be approved by a teacher's building administrator.
The Foundation Grant Committee will review each application and determine which requests will be fully or partially funded. Awards will be announced prior to Winter Break.
Grants will be awarded in January.
Expenditures of grant funds should be made prior to the end of the school year in May.
