PHS seniors invited to apply for Foundation scholarships

The application period is now open for the USD 250 Foundation scholarship program, which annually awards graduating seniors from Pittsburg High School a combination of Foundation scholarships and scholarships the organization administers on behalf of numerous donors.

Seniors may apply at usd250foundation.org through midnight on Feb. 10.

Last year, the Foundation awarded $145,000 to 74 seniors graduating from Pittsburg High School who were planning to attend a college/university, a community college, or a technology/vocational program.

Foundation President Jon Bartlow encourages seniors to apply for all scholarships for which they meet the criteria.

“Helping Dragon graduates continue their education is at the heart of what we do. Through student scholarships, we make sure every graduate has the support to take their next big step,” Bartlow said.

Many of the scholarships are made possible through fundraising at the annual Night of Dragons event, which this year will be Feb. 27 at Camptown Event Center. Tickets will go on sale soon; information will be announced at usd250foundation.org and on the Foundation’s Facebook page.

Important scholarship dates:

  • Feb. 10 – Scholarship applications are due at midnight.

  • March 25 – Congratulatory letters will be mailed to scholarship recipients.

  • April 19 – Pitzer Scholarship Reception at Pittsburg High School for recipients and donors.

  • Fall 2026 — Scholarship funding is sent to colleges to be applied to student tuition.
